James Monroe Smith Jr (Kilo-watt),78, of Gaston South Carolina, signed off for the last time
Tuesday November 10th 2020. He was born on Nov 18th 1941 in Columbia, South Carolina to James M Smith Sr and Molly Fulmon Smith.
James, United States Veteran, faithfully served in the US Army for 8 years including the Vietnam War for 4 campaigns. He was a member of the DAV. He also was a member of the Suburban Baptist Church.
James is survived by his wife of 49 years Carol Smith, His two sons James Smith III ( Crystal), Phillip Smith (Paula),his Grandchildren; Angelia Walker (Phillip), Joshua Moore ( Brittany), Tyler Smith, Trevor Smith, Ryan, Kayla, Roger Pendelton and four great grandchildren; Braxxton, Koltin, Audrey and Ella-Grace, and his two sisters; Ann Isabella and Sylvia Sanders, his brother John Smith.
He was predeceased by his brothers George Smith, Roy Smith, and his daughter Faith (Angie) Moore (David)
A graveside service will be held at 3pm Sunday, November 15th, 2020 at Gibson Cemetery 3111 Delree St. West Columbia, South Carolina,29170.
Visitation will be held at 1pm Sunday, November 15th, 2020 at Moseley Funeral Home 914 Meeting St. West Columbia, South Carolina, 29169.

Carol, Jamey, Phillip and family my heart goes out to each one of you during this difficult time. I pray God will comfort you and walk closely with you as you move forward. James was a good man, loving husband, father, and grandpa and I know he will be missed deeply. Love and prayers to all. God Bless everyone and keep all of you safe.

uncle james you have fought alot of batteles in your life ,the war,your family and then the rest of this family,,i've always been in awe of you and will always think of you,,you won your last battel,as much as we will all miss you,now your going to be with the ones we all love and miss,we will see you again,,,all the family are in my prayers

Mr. James was a very lovely person. I don't believe I will ever meet anyone quite like him ever again. He was always optimistic and I suppose that's how he made the best out of any situation. Gone but will never be forgotten.
