Thaddeous Edward Bright, resident of Myrtle Beach, SC and formerly from Cayce, SC 81, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022. He was born in Columbia, SC. He was the first of eight children to William Edward and Doris Gibbons Bright.
Ed attended Hollywood High School in Saluda, SC. He worked as a salesman for numerous paper and packaging supply companies for 30 years. Afterwards he started Confidential Fibres, the first document shredding company in Columbia, SC which he sold to Iron Mountain. Before his retirement, he spent his time on many entrepreneurial adventures as well as opening Southern Pig BBQ in Blythewood, SC. Ed was a dedicated and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He was a very energetic man that did not understand the meaning of slow down. Ed was a longtime member of the Church of God Worldwide Association.
Ed is survived by his wife of 29 years, Virginia Bright; daughters Gwen Barrs (Ben) of West Columbia, SC, Denae Bright (Doug Jones) of West Columbia, SC, Amy Kestner (Ricky) of West Columbia, SC, Staci Clark (Mike) of Myrtle Beach, SC, 6 Grand Children, Jason (Allison) and Ryan Barrs of West Columbia, SC, Michael and Brandon Kestner of West Columbia, SC, Austin Clark and Lexus McCraven (Daniel) of Myrtle Beach, SC, 6 Great Grandchildren Foster, Will, and Caroline Barrs of West Columbia, SC, Noah and Oakley McCraven of Myrtle Beach, SC and Abigail Clark of Myrtle Beach, SC, sisters Carolyn Frazier of Monetta, SC, Margaret Summer of Batesburg/Leesville, SC, Joyce Price (Von) of Gilbert, SC , Linda Harper (Steve) of Leesville, SC, and Brothers Nelson Bright (Phyllis) of Lexington, SC, and Billy Bright (Karen) of Lexington, SC, and numerous nephews and nieces. In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Theron Dixon Bright.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Springdale Baptist Church at 357 Wattling Rd, West Columbia, SC. 29170. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 3:00pm.
