Tammy Sabrina Brown, age 62, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 1, 2020.
Tammy was the best Mom, Nana, daughter, sister, aunt and friend you could ever be blessed to know. She was a beloved resident and social queen of Sandy Run, SC.
Tammy was born in Valdosta, GA, Moody Air Force Base, daughter of the late Frank Delano Brown, William Rhodes Murray and Bobbie Estelle Moore Murray. She was always a proud Air Force Brat, very patriotic and loved her country.
Tammy graduated from General HH Arnold HS, Wiesbaden, Germany, receiving numerous awards and scholarships. She went on to attend University of Maryland, Munich, Germany and Winthrop University, SC where she graduated Cum Laude, the first in her family to achieve such goals.
Tammy was employed with BCBC of SC for 30 years, retiring as a Senior Director and having always been involved and serving as a chair member for numerous charitable organizations throughout her years there. She broke boundaries in the corporate world, saying and doing things women weren't supposed to. Especially in achieving her goals and she left a legacy, without a doubt.
Tammy loved her family beyond measure, especially her grandchildren. They were her world, and her their's. She would do anything for them and always did. Her love of softball started at a young age, she was an outstanding player and she continued her love of the game through her daughter and granddaughter. If her babies were at any field, you can guarantee she was there and cheering them on. Her other interests included her beloved animals, her beloved friends, playing cards, the beach, candles, really nice office supplies, Old Westerns, year round flip flops, shoestring hair bows and of course Sonic Ice, just to name a few. Tammy also had a huge heart for stray animals and rescuing them.
She leaves behind her daughter, Erin Wingate (Mark), her cherished grandchildren and lights of her life Alston, Alexandria and Cooper. Siblings, Tinamarie Heckman (Brian), Teresa James (Bert) and Kenneth Shawn Brown. Nieces and nephews, Elaina, Gabrielle, JJ and Pierce. Numerous friends, both new and old. And her precious, trouble making pups, DJ and Lizzie, who will be loved and cared for by her family.
Tammy lived her life by her own terms. She did what she wanted, when she wanted, how she wanted and we loved that about her.Her laughter could be heard across board rooms and ballfields, her love and light will never stop shining.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date
