Ronald Hankinson On April 5th, 2023, Ronald Henry Hankison, age 73, passed away holding the hands of his two children who he loved with all of his heart. Moments before he took his last breath, his son Travis prayed with him for God's peace and mercy to embrace him as he transitioned into heaven to be
with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ron was the youngest of 6 children and born in Aiken, SC on September 23rd, 1949 to the late John and Pearl Boyd Hankinson. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. While serving in the navy, he was a photographer's mate and this is also where his profession as a barber began. His talent and love for people helped him begin his profession that lasted for over 50 years. During his career, he developed relationships with clients who became more than just friends, they became
family. Ron was a loyal father, grandfather (affectionately known as "Pawpaw"), brother, uncle, and friend who was loved by so many people. If
Ron was not cutting hair, you would find him doing something outdoors. Whether it was hunting, fishing, golfing, or watching his grandchildren play sports, he was always busy doing something that he loved. In addition to being an outdoorsman, he was a faithful gamecock
fan...although, if they were losing it may not have appeared that way. Ron was very devoted to his family. He is survived by his daughter, Kelli McClellan (Howard) and son, Travis Hankinson as well as grandchildren, Jaylen Cobbs, Pryce Cobbs, Ansley McClellan, Joselyn Leach-Hankinson,
Melody Hankinson, and Easton Hankinson. He also has many nieces and neonews that he loved and adore. He was predeceased in death oy his parents, brothers John C. Hankinson, Edward Hankinson, and Melvin Hankinson as well as sisters, Evelyn Pearson and Carolyn
Schwanke-Dempsey and his nephew James "Jimmy" Hankinson. A memorial service to honor Ron's life will be held on Sunday April 16th, 2023 at 2:00pm at Brookland United Methodist Church, 541 Meeting St. West Columbia, SC 29169. Visitation with the family will take place immediately following
the service.
