Robert Elliott Sellers, 79, was called home to Heaven on November 4, 2023. “Bobby” was born May 25, 1944 to Charles Hampton and Mildred Corbett Sellers. He grew up working on his family farm. He graduated Brookland Cayce High School in 1962 and Clemson University in 1966, and worked his entire life running his family business with his dad and brother. He also built handicap ramps and decks with his lifelong friend, John “Willie” Gissendanner. He was a navigator in the Georgia Air National Guard from 1966-1993, when he retired as Lt. Col. and Squadron Commander of the 165 Ops Group. He was an active church member both at Cayce UMC , and most recently at Dunn’s Chapel.
He is survived by his loving wife Melany (Jessie and Thomas Schmitt), his daughter Caroline Bridges (Matt, Elliot, Dylan), his son Charlie (Lyza, Evelyn), and former wife Nancy Boan; brother Wade H. Sellers (Judy, Wade, Jimmy)” . He is predeceased by his daughter in law, Jill Sellers and step-granddaughter, Aurora Schmitt.
He adored his family and friends, Clemson football, and being outdoors. He traveled the world, but his greatest joy was found at home on his tractor. He leaves behind him a legacy of hard work, strength, and a willingness to help others. He had an adventurous spirit, a rebellious nature, and a heart of gold. His laugh was infectious, and his will to live and love was unsurpassed.
