Regina Smith

Regina Christel Eleonore Voigt Smith, 80, passed from this earth to her heavenly home on January 28, 2023.

Regina is survived by her two children, Marina Tyler (Ted Philbrick) of West Columbia and Bucky (Tina) Smith of Kernersville, North Carolina; her two stepchildren, James (Sharen) Smith of West Columbia and Terri Wilkinson of Murrells Inlet; Shelia Neese of Columbia; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Else Abernathy and sister Karla Neese. 

Regina was born in a small town near Berlin, Germany. In 1959, as a young woman she immigrated to the Washington DC area. Regina became a beautician and loved to do hair for family and friends. She met James Smith, Sr around 1962 and they were married for 55 years. One of Regina’s greatest accomplishments was becoming a United States citizen in the early 1990’s.
