Maxine Ruth Silvers Sands

Maxine Ruth Silvers Sands, 76, passed away on May 11, 2022, at her home in Columbia, South Carolina.  She is survived by her Aunt Frances Davis of Burnsville, NC and many cousins.  There will be a Celebration of Life service May 25, 2022 at New Life Baptist Church, Columbia, South Carolina. Pastor John Hamilton will be officiating.  She was a faithful member of the Ladies Sunday School class of NLBC where she loved attending, raising her hands in praise to her Lord. She loved music; many times she would come early to church and we would find her sitting at the piano playing the good old gospel hymns.  She also loved singing in the choir.  She had been a member at NLBC since 2014.  Music was her hobby and she loved her cats. She is predeceased in death by her father, Herman Silvers; mother, Ruth Silvers Higgins and her ex-husband, John Sands. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Church.  

Many thanks to Pastor Hamilton, his wife Pam and the NLBC family who loved Maxine and was so attentive to her special needs in the last few years.

There will also be a memorial service at Yancey Funeral Home in Burnsville, North Carolina, June 4, 2022 at 2PM.
