Mary Ellen Wise Prater

Mary Wise Prater, 86, of West Columbia died June 29, 2022. Born in Newberry, SC, 
she was the daughter of the late Henry Walter and Gladys Shealy Wise Mrs. Prater was an active  member of Trinity Baptist church for many years. She loved her family and friends dearly. She enjoyed shopping, eating out, family gatherings, beach trips, and mountain trips.

Mrs. Prater is survived by two sons, Harold L. Prater (Karen), and D. Wayne Prater (Tracy); 4 grandchildren, Nikki Prater Seek (Tim), Erika Prater Seek (Matt), Damon Prater (Delayni),  Peyton Prater (fiancé Jimmy Reed); and 5 great grandchildren, Chase Seek, Carson Seek, and Erik Seek, Elliotte Prater and Waleigh Prater. Also surviving are her sister, Nancy Richardson (Rick) and sister-in-law, Linda Wise Martin.

She was predeceased in death by her husband Harold P. Prater; son  J. Ray Prater; sister Narvice Harmon (Robert); brothers, Clay Wise, John W. Wise, James E. Wise (Ellie Jane).

Special thanks to granddaughter Nikki Seek and her husband Tim and their son Carson for their loving care as caregivers the past 18 months.

Music at the service will be provided by great grandson Carson Seek.

Active Pallbearers will be Tim Seek, Matt Seek, Damon Prater, Jimmy Reed, Chase Seek, and Erik Seek.

A graveside service will be conducted by Dr. Eddie Coakley at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Woodridge Memorial Park Mausoleum in Lexington.
