Janette Fulmer Cain

Janette Fulmer Cain, 81, of Prosperity, South Carolina passed away on November 7, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Mary Frick Fulmer and Furman Fulmer of Prosperity, the widow of the late Fred L Cain, and sister to the late Steve Fulmer of Prosperity and Carolyn Garner of North Augusta. Janette was a graduate of Mid-Carolina High School and Limestone College with honors, receiving a bachelor's degree in business administration. She retired after 35 years from SCE&G where she worked as a customer advocate for the Customer Assistance Program. She served as Secretary of “Pine Island Club” for 15 years.  Janette was an active member of St Paul's Lutheran Church of Columbia for over 50 years. She served on Lexington County DSS board, Aiken, Barnwell & Lexington Community Action Agency Boards, Governor’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, as well many other boards throughout her life.  

Janette is survived by her daughter Mary Shannon C (Chris) Dameron of Prosperity, Grandson Cameron Alexander (Jessica) Cain of Springdale, brother Edward Fulmer of Columbia, sisters Jewel Oxner of Newberry, Sandra (George) Metts of West Columbia, and Faye (Ellis) Cannon of Chapin. 

Her service will be on Saturday November 18th at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Columbia. Visitation will be at 1pm and the service will follow at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1715 Bull St, Columbia SC 29201.
