After a long battle with congestive heart failure, Hazel (Hayes) Pinzon Leonard, 82 of Lexington SC passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, 8/9/2022.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Michelle Bear (Michael) of Irmo, grandson Michael All of Irmo, nephews Jeff Brewer (Suzanne) of Lexington, Greg Brewer of Lexington, a great grandson Liam All and nephews Tyler Brewer, Austin Brewer and Philip Brewer. She is pre-deceased by her husband Jack Leonard, father and mother, Franklin Hayes and Verdell KoonHayes, sister Martha Hayes Brewer, brother Charles Hayes and a grandson, Robert William All, Jr.
Hazel was born in her parent’s home in Gilbert, SC where she lived until her father’s death in 1949 at which time, the family moved to Columbia. After graduating from Dreher High School in 1958, she moved to New York with her sister, Martha where she started a career in the travel industry. She would eventually move to California and meet Ricardo (Dick) Pinzon. They married and together moved back to SC to raise their daughter, Michelle. She maintained a long career in travel and eventually worked for Wilbur Smith Associates as their exclusive travel agent before she retired. She loved to travel and take long road trips with her family.
She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She touched the lives of so many people and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Services will be held at Moseley Funeral and Cremation Service at 914 Meeting St. West Columbia SC 29169 on Saturday 8/13/2022 at 5 pm. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
