Obituary
George Ruiz, 90 yrs. old, born August 31, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, passed away at Saluda Nursing Home into the arms of our Lord, Thursday, June 29th, 2023.
He will be dearly missed and remembered for his many stories, humor, and always trying to make someone laugh. He was proud to serve our country in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant and stood firmly for our Freedom.
He is survived by his sons, Frankie Ruiz (Sandy) of New Iberia, LA, Steve Ruiz (Rhonda) of Loveland, CO., George Anthony Ruiz of Gaston, SC; Daughters, Donna Dunaway (Thomas) of Leesville, SC, and Georgia Sharpe (Wayne) of Gilbert, SC; brother, Donald Ruiz (Claudia)of Walnutport, PA; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews, whom he dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, 4 brothers, a sister, and a grandson.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sawyer and all the staff on the Sawyer wing at Saluda Nursing Home for taking such good care of our father these last 3 yrs. They treated him like their family and we are forever grateful!
A memorial service will be held at Lexington Baptist Church in the Chapel, Friday, July 14, 2023 at 2:00pm
