Charlie Wood, Jr.

Charlie Wood Jr of Gilbert, SC passed away October 15, 2023.
Surviving is his children Laylah Wood (Damian), Dixie Wood (Isiaha), Caden Wood, and fiancée Amy Storey. Grandchildren, Willow and Charleigh Parker. Siblings, Charles Wood (Lanaia), Dedra Gillian (Brandon) Kristie Maroney (Trinity). Nieces and Nephews, Hunter Wood, Daniel Gillian, Luke Gillian, Leah Maroney, TJ Maroney, Alex Maroney, and Jason Tyler Wood.  Great nephews and niece, Noah Maroney, Ayden Harmon, Chloe Wood, and long-time best friend Phillip Stukes.  

He was preceded in death by his brother Jason Wood, Grandparent’s C.B. (Joe) and Geneva Wood, and J.L. Chavis and Betty Chavis Smith.

Jr. was born in Newberry, SC and was the son of Charlie Wood Sr and Betty Smith. He was an avid North Carolina Tarheels Fan and enjoyed building anddetailing Ford Mustang’s. He was employed with Xylem Tree Experts.

A graveside service will be held at Steadman Baptist Church Cemetery 1011 N. Edisto Rd, Leesville, SC on Saturday October 21st at 3pm. Flowers, Food and Donations to the family can be sent to either 1031 Ben Kyzer Dr, Gilbert SC or 529 Berkeley Rd, Leesville. The family is requesting Baby Blue and White to represent his Tarheels, no black please.
