Carolyn Osbon Branham Obituary

The Lord and Savior called our loving mother and friend home on Sunday, March 19, 2023, after a short battle with cancer.

Carolyn Louise Osbon Branham, b. November 27, 1942 – d. March 19, 2023. Born in Aiken, South Carolina on November 27, 1942. She attended Aiken High School. She was a young bride (Wesley Clark) and mother to 3 children (Kim, Jeff, and Angie).

Carolyn became a beautician and opened her own beauty parlor – La Petite Shoppe that she operated for over 10 years. Following a divorce and having lived her whole life in Aiken, SC she relocated to Columbia, SC where she worked 3 jobs to make things work financially.  She was a corrections officer for the SCDOC and was the first female officer to ever work in a SC male penal facility.  She also worked retail and P/T for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier.

Carolyn eventually remarried (Ralph Heath) and together they ran a successful auction company in Elgin, SC – Heath Heirloom Auctions for 10+ years. She was also involved with Osbon Medical Systems (OMS) during its infancy. OMS was an internationally successful business developed around an ED device invented by her father, Geddings.  She and her brothers were all involved with OMS at some point during the business’ lifetime.

Carolyn became a widow years later. She then met her current husband (Tillman). Together they opened or assisted in opening numerous businesses. Including UnifitServices - Umbrella Company for Unifit Used Cars, Absolute Cash Title Loans and A2Z Embroidery and Screen Printing all in the Lexington, SC area.  Later, Carolyn and Tillman chartered a G.E.D. School program – Christian Kingdom Academy that operated for 10+ years helping high school dropouts get their GED’s thus providing a path for continued education and potential workforce employment.

So much more than the sum of all these business activities, Carolyn had a very caring heart and an incredibly generous soul. She would selflessly help most anyone she knew financially, emotionally, and spiritually.  Her love for her savior Jesus Christ guided her daily and was the reason for all things to her. Carolyn also had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed sharing that talent at her church on a regular basis. She was also an integral part of a travel singing group for 5+ years.  Her great and great-great grandchildren were a huge source of love and joy in her more recent years.

Carolyn is survived by Tillman Branham (husband); Brother, Tony (Marilyn) Osbon;Children, Kim (Johnny) Price, Angie (George) Crim and Jeff (Angel) Clark;Grandchildren, Brandi Clark, David Boger, Tyler Clark, Jessye Clark, Stephen Clark; Great Grandchildren, Sydnee, Kayden, Myiah, Riley, Morgan; Great-Great Grandchildren, Aubree and Huntley.
