Obituary
Bishop Franklin Hewitt, 82, of West Columbia loving husband, father and grandfather went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving family Wednesday July 26, 2023. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the ALS Association.
Mr. Hewitt was born in Plant City, Florida. He was the son of the late Edward and Geneva White Hewitt.
One of his favorite things was going to car shows with his 67 Chevy Malibu and winning many trophies. He was a faithful gamecock fan. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed being with them. He will be missed.
Mr. Hewitt is survived by his loving wife, Janice Price Hewitt; son, Brian Hewitt; grandsons, Blair and Jacob Hewitt and daughter in law, Robyn Hewitt; siblings, Barbara (JC) Gartman and Eldridge (Sally) Hewitt. Mr. Hewitt was preceded in death by his son, Michael “Todd” Hewitt.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday at 11:30 am in the chapel of Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens.
