Andrew Ray Culbreth died Sunday, September 18, 2022 at his home in West Columbia, SC. Born on July 8, 1968, Ray was 54 years old at the time of his death.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, Charles W. and Francis C. Culbreth, and his nephew, Altie W. Hooker, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Charlie C. Hooker (Wayne) and Beverly C. Shull; Brother Gregg Culbreth, Nephew J.J. Nettles (Jenny), and many great nieces and nephews.
Ray worked for many years with the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission. At the time of his death, he was employed part time by Providence Environmental.
Ray attended Trinity United Methodist Church where he eagerly participated in the church’s Acolyte program and often Ushered when needed. The family wishes to thank Tom Geddens for the training and support he lovingly gave to Ray. The family also wishes to extend their appreciation to the entire staff at the Babcock Decree Home and the Babcock Three-fountains Workshop. It was with the Decree House that Ray also routinely visited First Baptist Church in Columbia. Ray was rich with church family.
Services will begin at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 1201 Mohawk Drive in West Columbia SC on Friday, September 23, 2022 beginning at 1 pm.
The family will receive friends 1-hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are being handled by Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service.
