Willisam John Olsen

RMC William John (Oley) Olsen of Gaston, SC went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, October 5, 2018.  Oley was born on January 24, 1950 in Niles, Michigan to Floyd and Alice Olsen.  Oley retired after serving his country for 23 years as a Chief Radioman for the United States Navy.  His passions were dancing and working with his wood.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Shuler Olsen of Gaston, SC; his brother, Richard (Karen) Olsen of Niles, Michigan; brother, Thomas (Cindy) Olsen of Lerner, Texas; sister, Sandra Lyons of Cadillac, Michigan; his son, Oley John Olsen of Virginia Beach, Virginia; step daughter, Teresa (Barry) Roof; grandsons, Andy and Clay Roof of Lexington, SC and many nieces and nephews.

Chief William Olsen will rest in his favorite and first love with a burial at sea.  His family would like to thank all of his care givers from Palmetto Health, and his two favorite doctors; Dr. Richard Morrow and Dr. Payton Faust.  Oley will be loved and missed beyond measure.  Sail on Chief, fair winds and following seas! Rest now, job well done.
