Walter Oliver Burkett Iii

Walter O. Burkett, III, 57, of West Columbia passed away Thursday August 9, 2018. He was born February 24, 1961 in Columbia, SC.

He was a member of Grace Chapel Church, was a skilled woodworker, and trapped wildlife for the department of wildlife.

Mr. Burkett is preceded in death by his father, Walter Burkett, II and mother, Jessie  Tingen Burkett;

He is survived by his wife, Doris Burkett; daughter, Katie (Mark) Herrmann of Lexington; son, David Burkett of Charleston; granddaughter, Charlotte Herrmann; and sister, Becky Welch of Irmo.

A memorial service will be held at 6 pm Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Grace Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will be held at a later date at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
