Vicki Corley Formy Duval, 73, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026, following a short illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 21, 1952, in Columbia, South Carolina, Vicki was the daughter of the late Ralph and Harriet Corley. She lived a vibrant, independent life marked by creativity, determination, and a generous heart.
Vicki was a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School and the University of South Carolina. A true entrepreneur, she owned and operated multiple businesses throughout her life and was co-owner of The Quay Yacht Club, a place where countless friends gathered and were welcomed by her warmth, hospitality, and an unmistakable personality.
A trailblazer from an early age, Vicki became the first female school bus driver while still in high school. She was later honored as Miss South Carolina World, a title that reflected both her confidence and poise.
Vicki had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, earning both the Master Angler and Distinguished Angler’s Awards. She was also a devoted animal lover, a passionate bird watcher who delighted in feeding and observing them, and a gifted gardener with a remarkable green thumb. An accomplished artist, she expressed her creativity through her artwork and her surroundings, leaving beauty wherever she went.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy “Tina” Oshima (Yosuke); her brother, Ralph “Rick” Corley (Mandy); her cousin Mollie Taylor (Henry); and her beloved nieces and nephews, Amanda Corley (Kayla), Nathan Corley (Stephanie), Megumi Oshima-Breaux (Jared), Michiya Oshima (Becca), Natalie Corley (Britt), and great niece Blakely Corley, along with a large extended family and many dear friends.
Vicki will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, artistic soul, fierce independence, and the kindness she shared so freely with people and animals alike. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, creativity, and love.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 11, 2026, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Gulfstream Cafe, 1536 S. Waccamaw Drive, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life well lived.
