I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course . I have kept the faith, henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Vernaree Jackson Harrison of 1204 Hemlock St was born November 12, 1943 in Cayce, SC to the late Rev. John Jackson and Deaconess and mother Beulah G. Jackson. She was the sixth child unto this union.

Mrs. V was educated at Cayce Elementary and graduated from Lake view High School and went on to study Dietary services and became a Dietitian.

She was married to the late Artemus James Harrison and into this union were 6 children late Dar yl Harrison, late Lednoris (Terry) Wilson, late Lisa Jackson, Vernon (Sharlene) Jackson, Rosalind (Sammie Lee) Brown, and Greg ( Latavia ) Harrison. Five brothers Leroy, James, Haskell, Nathaniel, and Samuel Jackson, sisters Hattie Bell Noble, Earthalee Williams, Loretta Young -all deceased. Living sisters Deloris (Earl) G or don of Cayce , Minster Evelyn J. Braxton of Atlanta, GA, Willie Mae Jackson of Cayce, and Nathalean Jackson of Columbia. Grandparents Catherine Rump (deceased), Aunt Vermell (Eugene) Matthews of Charlotte, NC and a special nephew Trey Jackson. She has 10 grands, 8 great grands a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She gave her life to Christ at a early age. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church where s he served on the deaconess board, pastors aid and missionary board and a member of Sunday school . She was the pillar of the community known as Mrs. V where her door was always open and she was always ready to feed you.  She worked at Dobbs house, Airport, Southland Restaurant and Lexington School district. She went on to own her own Janitorial service with her husband called Harry Enterprise. She was also a caretaker of Ms. Susie Cook for over 20 years.  She was the organizer and CEO of the Golden girls a very special group of friends.

Vernaree entered her eternal rest peacefully on March 4 th , 2020 at 5:08am at Lexington Medical Center.
