Thomas Lee Brown, Jr., 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 16, 2020 at Providence Hospital with his two daughters by his side.
He was born in Columbia, SC on December 6, 1940 to Thomas Lee Brown, Sr. and Annie Lee Arnold Brown. He grew up in the Shandon area, graduated from Dreher High School, attended Spartanburg Methodist Junior College and was retired from CSX Railroad.
Tom, as many called him, loved to fish, hunt and was an avid gun collector. He was a gunsmith and taught gunsmith classes at Midland Technical College. He was in the Marine Corps Reserves for seven years, training at Parris Island, SC and received an honorable discharge. He was a member of Marine Corps league 829.
Leaving to cherish these memories are his former wife, Brenda Brown; daughters, Deborah (Michael) Drake and Lisa (Skeeter) Wyckoff; grandsons, Daniel (Jessica) Drake, Joshua Drake, Kyle Thomas and Kaleb Thomas; granddaughter, Lola Drake; great grandchildren, Emma Drake and Cohen Drake; his best friend Talley Moore and his beloved dogs.
Due to coronavirus restrictions a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank Providence Hospital, ICU and the 6th floor Heart nurses and Heart of Hospice for the care and compassion shown to him and his family that were able to be with him during his final days.
