Tessie R. Neeley

Tessie Rogers Neeley entered into her Heavenly home on December 21st, 2018. She was born to the late Colonel Oree Rogers and Retha Culbreth Rogers on August 30th 1936 in Marion South Carolina. She graduated from high school where she enjoyed playing basketball. She moved to Columbia and attended nursing school at Baptist Hospital where she graduated in 1957. She enjoyed a wonderful nursing career at Providence hospital and Lexington Medical extended care. She was an exceptional nurse and a dear friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed nursing and meeting with family and friends with all of her heart. She had a smile for everyone. She was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed football, basketball, baseball and all college sporting events especially Carolina. Surviving are her daughter Sonya Neeley Lewis, grandson Joshua Shane Wiles, Brothers Colonel Rogers, and Walter Rogers, sisters Mildred Manor, and Doreen storm as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Neely, grandson Nicholas Brandon Wiles, and sisters Lois Rogers Brown and Viola Rogers Cooper. A memorial service will be held on Thursday December 27th at 3 p. M. And Brookland United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to a charity of choice or to Brookland United Methodist Church.
