Stephen Williams Causey

Stephen Williams Causey, 70, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019. He was born in Columbia, SC on June 21, 1949 and was a son of Carolyn Williams North and the late H. Gregg Causey. Steve or "Zipper", as he was affectionately known, was a man of many talents. He was known as the neighborhood Mr. Fix It, making many friends along the way. He deeply cared for and loved his neighbors. Steve was a retired engineer from Norfolk Southern Railway, a job he cared about and loved. In additon to being mechanically gifted, Steve was an excellent cook, a master gardener, and a veteran of the Vietnam War. Though he was known for a lot of things, his best role was that of father and role model. He was loving and devoted to his four girls. In addition to his father, he is preceeded in death by a brother, H. G. "Skip" Causey, Jr. Steve is survived by his mother, Carolyn Williams North; four daughters, Deia Patsel (Mark), Kimberly Causey, Kelli Davidson (Tony), and Christian Causey Ford; beloved fur baby, Bootsie; as well as extended family members. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service, 914 Meeting St. West Columbia, SC 29169. Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family.
