Sharon “Sherry” Ann Pearce was known for having one of the biggest hearts in the world. On Sunday, September 6, 2026, after more than 64 years of loving her family, friends, and friends of friends, that heart gave its final beat, but her impact on the people in her life will last forever.

Despite being born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1962, Sherry became a diehard Alabama fan, though that paled in comparison to her fandom as the loudest parent in the Batesburg-Leesville High School stands cheering on her daughters, Jaclyn and Jennifer, in color guard, and her sons, Donald and Allen, on the football field. As a devoted parent, wife, and caregiver, Sherry rarely missed an event, even though she worked sometimes demanding hours in the customer service and hospitality industries.

Preceded in death by her husband and anchor, James, her brothers, Terry, Larry, and Mike, her daughter, Natasha, and grandchildren, Keanna, Teanna, Isaiah, and Mia, her father, Edward, and her stepfather, Allen, all who knew and loved Sherry are comforted knowing that she is with them once again.

Her legacy lives on through her mother, Shirley, her siblings, Joan, Phil, and Wayne, her children, Donald, Allen, Jaclyn (Jacori), and Jennifer (Adam), her boo-boos (grandchildren), Breanna, Antwain, Addison, Hailey, Nate, and Jamison, many nieces and nephews, dozens of friends, and the friends of her children, who also viewed her as Mom growing up.

In lieu of flowers, the family hopes that you consider a donation in Sherry’s name to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, an organization that shares the world of books with millions of kids, as she passed on her love of reading to her own children at a very young age.
