Roy Bailey Owings, Iii

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Roy B. Owings, III, 59, of West Columbia will be held at 2 PM Thursday , January 25, 2018 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Great Falls, SC.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM Wednesday, January 24 at Moseley Funeral and Cremation Service, 914 Meeting Street, West Columbia.  Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice or to the Great Falls Cemetery Association, PO Box 191, Great Falls, SC 29055. Mr. Owings passed away Friday, January 19, 2018, 1 day before his 60th birthday.  He was born in Victoria, TX, the son of the late Roy B. Owings, Jr. and Linda Nunnery Owings Paul.  He grew up in Columbia and Cayce, SC. He went to Airport High School and attended the University of SC.  He was a retired longshoreman and enjoyed fishing, playing golf and listening to good music. Roy was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Dr. Melissa Owings West. He is survived by his stepfather, James M. 'Jim' Paul, Jr. and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
