Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Shumpert

A service to celebrate the life of Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Shumpert, 54, of Gaston will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 26, 2018 in the chapel of Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends Friday, May 25, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Southland Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Palmetto Health Richland, Children’s Hospital. Ronnie passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was born in Columbia and was the son of Vernelle Lucas Shumpert Hall and the late Boyd Ira Shumpert. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, woodworking and was a former well driller for many years. Ronnie is survived by his mother; children, Justin (Maddie) Shumpert and Karley (Chase Williams) Shumpert; step daughter, Brittany Snyder; grandchildren, Kelsey Shumpert, Cameron Williams and Parker Shumpert; siblings, Keith (Joyce) Shumpert, Karen (Mike) Grandy and David Shumpert, Sr.; nephew, but raised like a son, David Shumpert, Jr. and niece, Ashley Grandy. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, step father, Edward Hall and grandparents, Julius and Eva Lucas and Ira and Annie Shumpert and nephew, Boyd Grandy.
