Ronald Eric Miles, born April 19, 1969, in Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He grew up in Olympia, where he built deep roots and lifelong connections that remained with him throughout his life.
Eric was the beloved son of Blondie and Norma Jean Miles. He was preceded in death by his siblings Johnny Miles, Walter, and Melissa Hair, as well as his grandparents Thelma Kelly, Maggie and Buck Miles, and “Pappy.” He is survived by his sisters Sandra Davis, Melissa Kelly(Neil), and Jennifer Harwell, along with many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.
A hardworking and talented man, Eric spent his life as a carpenter and painter, working with Clay Miles Painting and Vinyl Siding. He had a gift for his trade and took pride in the work he did with his hands. Beyond his work, Eric found joy in anything with wheels—he loved to drive, and he loved to work on motorcycles, always happiest when tinkering on anything/anywhere or hitting the open road.
To Eric, family was everything, and that included his loyal companion, Little Man. He treated his dog as if he were his own son, and Little Man now misses him deeply.
Those who knew Eric will remember his big heart, his willingness to help, and the laughter he brought to every gathering. He was never alone—his circle of family and friends was wide, and their presence surrounded him with love until his final moments.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Crescent Hospice for their compassion and care, and especially to Mary, whose support brought comfort during this difficult time.
A memorial service to celebrate Eric's life will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Moseley's. Food and time for stories will follow at Calvary Community Church in West Columbia, South Carolina. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor his memory and share in the love he gave so freely.
