Robin Denise Clary

Robin Denise Clary, age 56, passed away suddenly April 27, 2022 in Columbia, SC due to a brief, incapacitating injury.  She was born January 1, 1966 in Gaffney, SC to Dennis and Linda Queen Clary.  She was raised in Blacksburg, SC by her loving grandparents, Albert and Lula Clary who later adopted Robin and her two sisters after their mothers untimely death.

Robin was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was a most proud and loyal alumni and avid Gamecock fan and supporter.  After graduation she attended paralegal school in Atlanta, Ga and remained in that profession for nearly thirty-five years in Columbia, SC.

Robin attended Saluda River Baptist Church in Lexington, SC for many years, was a regular member of the church choir, served on various committees and was a faithful servant to her church and more importantly, to her God. Everyone that had the pleasure of knowing Robin can avow to her wonderful sense of humor and fierce independence.  She was loyal to a fault, loved unconditionally and was blessed with the most generous of hearts.  Robin adored all of her many nieces and nephews and they all affirm her as their second mom.

She is survived by her two sisters Annette Clary Burnham (Dan) of Hartsville, SC,  Dr. Lynn Clary Garey (Billy) of Florence SC, a brother Jonathan Clary of Spartanburg, SC,  nephews Nicklaus McGee, John and James Garey,  Cody Clary and nieces Sarah Kate Garey,  Sheyanne and Ashlyn Clary,  as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and her honorary “adoptive”parents,  June and Frank Shealy.

A memorial service honoring Robin will be held at Saluda River Baptist Church in West Columbia, SC on May 5, 2022 at 3 pm with visitation preceding service at 2 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to honor Robin’s giving heart and service to her church by requesting donations be made to Saluda River Baptist Church (Family Life Center Fund) or We Are Sharing Hope SC Organ Procurement Organization.
