Roberta Joan Kanapaska

Roberta Joan Kanapaska, 84 , of West Columbia, South Caroli na, a retired bookkeeper, passed away on Tuesday, February 12 , 2019 .  She was born in Brooklyn, New York Ju ly 7, 1934 .  She was preceded in death by her mother, Adele Shi lditzki; step-father, Anthony Kanapaska; and daughter, Carolyn C. Drozd. She is survived by two sons, Stephen F. III and John A. She was baptized at Our Lady of Sorrows Church , Brooklyn, New York, according to the Rite of the Roman Catholic Church . She was a woman of God who remained steadfast and embraced the values of her Catholic faith. While living in South Carolina, Roberta attended First Baptist Church of West Columbia.

She was a loving daughter, wife , mother and a friend to all who knew and loved her. She touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed. She was a truly loving and kind person who brought light and joy to all of those she met.

Her adopted family wishes to express special thanks to Lexington Extended Care and the caregivers of Compassionate Care Hospice for their loving care and support and to all th e many friends, neighbors, nurses and staff. Special thank you to Avis Reinhardt , Theresa Bartley and Jamie Reinhardt who were her caregiver s for the past several years .

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Moseley Funeral Home of West Columbia at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 16 , 2019, in the chapel at Moseley Funeral Home , with Pastor Jody Ratcliff e officiating.
