Richard A. “Ricky” Roddy

Richard A. “Ricky” Roddy Born August 17, 1962 in Lexington County to Cleo and Carole Roddy. Growing up, his father coached him and his brother in baseball which spurred his passion to coach softball. Anyone who knew him, knew Ricky lived his life to the fullest! He loved his Harley and riding with family and friends, kayaking and white water rafting in the Smokey Mountains. Most of all, Ricky loved working at Holland Avenue Baptist church for the past 20 years. Ricky always looked forward to the SC State Fair every year where he won the biggest stuffed animals for the children there. He was their protector and “back door guardian.” He loved to talk all things NASCAR, Gamecocks, and his savior, Jesus Christ. The high fives, greeting with a smile, the longest story teller, and the softball coach. He passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025. Ricky will truly be missed.

He is preceded in death by his father,  Cleo S. “Al” Roddy. He is survived by his Mother, Carole L. Roddy; his brother and sister in law, Johnny and Cathy Roddy; great nephew, Xander Liles; sister, Kim Burnette Roddy Johnson; Nieces Alisha Roddy, Amanda Gabbard and Carlie Gabbard; and his sister in love, Elizabeth Gabbard.

Visitation will be  at 10 AM and funeral at 11 on Monday, February 17 at Holland Avenue Baptist Church .Private burial will follow the service.
