Ralph Edwin Hutchins

A Memorial Service for Ralph Edwin Hutchins, 51, will be held at 12 pm Saturday, March 12,2016 at McEntire Fire Department at 10313 Garners Ferry Rd, Eastover, SC. Ralph passed away Thursday, March 3 rd at Agape Hospice House after a long and well fought battle with cancer. Born in Johnson City, TN he was the son of the Reverend Charles and Eva Grey Martin Hutchins of Greeneville, TN.

Assistant Chief Hutchins retired from McEntire Fire Department after 28 years of service as well as the South Carolina Air National Guard where he held the rank of MSGT. Ralph also worked over 30 years in the private ambulance community as an EMT and Director of Risk Management. He dedicated his life to helping others in their time of need. He was a kind, compassionate, encouraging man that always had a smile on his face and was his nephew Jack’s hero.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kerri Cook Hutchins; children Cassie Trotter (Chet), Russell Tanner, Kelli Shealy (Collin); siblings Rita Sexton (Jim), Camille Broom (Mike), John Hutchins (Lisa), Dwight Mixon (Mimi); brothers and sisters in law Sherri Mattox (Kevin), Ronnie Cook (Jennifer), Gene Wood, Beth Williamson (Robbie) as well as nieces and nephews Jack, Anna, Marisa, Graham, Sam, Olivia, Sydney, Alex, Taylor, Trey, Harley, Liam, Ashleigh and Kayleigh.
