Patricia Gates

A service to celebrate the life of Patricia Ann Gates, 69, of Lexington will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Green Hill Baptist Church the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Monday, January 21, 2019 at Moseley funeral and cremation service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in her memory to Green Hill Baptist Church. Patricia passed away January 15, 2019. She was born in Columbia SC and was the daughter of Jesse Gates and the late Margaret Wood Gates. Patricia was a 1967 graduate of Lexington High School and a active member of the Herb Bunch of Lexington County, Green Hill Baptist Church, where she attended the Senior Energize Class, Lydia Sunday School Class and the B.C. Grammar #1 School Time Bible Study. Patricia was a assistant professor and taught dental hygiene at Midlands Tech, Greenville Tech and From 2002-2008 at Oregon institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, OR. And continued online teaching until 2017. She received the Dr. Ralph Levine Award by the SCDHA, was past policy president of the SCDHA for a time and enjoyed making trips to Africa and Costa Rica for dental hygiene. Though Patricia was never a mother, she was mom to all the children.

Patricia is survived by her father, Jesse (Shonah) Gates; brother and sister in law, Richard and Heidi Gates; niece, Sandy (Chip) Loretta Heggemeier  and Caterina Heidi Gates; great niece, Jessica Rayne Smith; great nephew, Jeffery (Victoria Moye) Dalton Smith.
