Patricia Karen (Hodges-Williamson) Fitts, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 6:17 p.m., surrounded by the love of her family. She was 73 years old.
Born on December 30, 1951, in Valdosta, GA, she lived a life marked by resilience, compassion, and quiet strength. To all who knew her, she was a steady presence—gentle in spirit, generous in heart, and always willing to show up for others. Patricia was also known for her straightforward honesty; she always told you what you needed to hear, whether you asked or not, and always with sincerity and love.
Her devotion to God was unmistakable. Anyone who ever met Patricia (even if only once) knew how good she believed her God was and how deeply she loved Him. The love of God shone brightly in her heart, and the joy of the Lord was truly her strength.
She devoted her life to her family, finding her greatest joy in caring for her children and grandchildren. Her love was constant and unconditional, her support unwavering, and her wisdom a grounding force during life’s most difficult moments. She carried her own hardships with grace, teaching those around her the meaning of perseverance.
Patricia (“Mamaw”) is survived by her husband, John Edward Fitts Jr.; her children, Jennifer Truel (Darren), Stephen Williamson (Jennifer), and Rebecca Kelly (Terry); and by her daughter/niece, Jeannette Bailey (Mickey). She is also survived by three nieces whom she lovingly raised as her own - Tina Blizzard, Tracy Hardie, and Audra Haney, along with her 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren (with two more expected soon), her loving church family at Gethsemane Baptist Church, and many other loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
Her family is deeply thankful for the beautiful love and all the adventures she was able to experience with her husband, John, during the last years of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Harold Williamson (married 55 years); her brother, Aubrey Hodges; her sister, Linda Haney; and her parents, Aubrey and Velita Hodges.
Her legacy lives on in the kindness she showed, the strength she modeled, and the love she freely gave. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
