Pastor Fred Anthony Gray, 49, of Lexington entered God’s eternal kingdom peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones on October 10, 2022.
Fred, or Tony as he was known by those who knew him in his younger days, was a loving, devoted husband, father, and Pastor. His is survived by his wife, Kimberly, children Gabrielle (Josh) Heraly, Lyndsay (Kolton) Borchers, and Mason Gray, Grandmother Theresa Mays of Augusta, sisters Cynthia (Billy) Smith, Melissa Duncan, and Harrison (Kate Dover), and Great Uncle Doug Holland. He was predeceased by his parents Lyndia and Jack Dover, Grandfather Fred Mays, and Grandmother Geraldine Marshall.
Fred and Kimberly were married for 25 years. Their love and devotion for each other was only matched by their love and devotion for God. Fred unapologetically displayed and showed his love for her. They were an example of when God has created two people that were made to be together in body and soul. He will be missed greatly by his soul mate.
Fred was a loving father. His children were Fred and Kim’s biggest accomplishment. They could count on him to be their biggest cheerleader, always cheering and gently pushing them to greatness. He was so proud of their accomplishments. If you were sitting beside him for too long, he would tell you about Gabby and her work for Aiken County DJJ, or Lyndsay’s beautiful singing voice and her teaching career, or he would tell you about his mini me, Mason, with his loving personality and love for sports. He was thankful to God to be present for both of his girls’ weddings and counted it as an answered prayer. He was also grateful to God for the wonderful son-in-loves God sent the girls. He loved them both very dearly and are proud of the men they are.
Next to family, the other love of his life was God. His church,Living Water Fellowship, will be celebrating 7 years of service and worship next month. He was selfless in his leadership to the church. He was on call for his members and anyone in need. He was there for his church members through many life events including weddings, births, deaths and for the laughter and tears. He especially delighted in the smallest members of the church and made sure they were loved. He was a pillar in the faith community of Pelion and enjoyed working with the other churches to minister to the community.
Visitation will be on Thursday October 13 from 6-8pm at Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service., A funeral services will be Friday October 14 at 1 pm located at Convent Baptist Church in Leesville with graveside burial to follow at Dust to Dust Natural Cemetery.
