Mitch passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at his home He was born in Columbia, South Carolina and was the son of the late Melvin P Mitchum and Trudella H. Mitchum. He retired from SCE&G after 32 years of service as an associate manager of transportation. He was a member of the Pine Island Club and Palmetto Church of Christ and had actively volunteered with the Special Olympics in the past.
Mitch is survived by his wife, Norma H. Mitchum; children, Mark S. Mitchum and Dana Deneene Alvarez; granddaughter, Cierrah Jayde Alvarez and stepdaughter, Susan R. Pendley (Howard).
The family would like to Thank Latoya Holton of Compassionate Care Hospice for all her special care.
