Born on September 19, 1931, in Columbia, South Carolina, Mary was the daughter of Weldon and Margaret Easterling. She spent most of her life in Cayce, South Carolina, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and friendship.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Thomas Blackmon; her brother, Francis Easterling; her sister, Clara Easterling Gardner; and her son-in-law, David Huggins.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Huggins; her grandchildren, Keith Huggins and Brooke Ebener (Kenneth); her great-grandson, Hunter Huggins (Delaney); and her step great-grandchildren, Clark (Sara), Brett (Ashley), and Lyndsey Ebener.
Mary graduated from Columbia High School and began her career shortly thereafter at BellSouth, where she worked faithfully for 38 years before retiring. She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was deeply involved and an active participant in the Joy Club. Her faith and her church community were cornerstones of her life.
Mary loved traveling with her friends and created many cherished memories along the way. She also had a passion for cooking and was known for her open door at lunchtime, always welcoming anyone who wanted to join. Above all, she treasured her family—especially her daughter, Cathy; her grandchildren, Brooke and Keith; and most of all, her great-grandson, Hunter, whom she adored and supported wholeheartedly.
