Mark E. Shelton

Mark E. Shelton, age 54, a resident of Irmo, South Carolina, passed away at his home on December 30, 2017.

Mark was born on September 18, 1963, in Greenville, South Carolina, to Charles E. and Margie C. Shelton.  He graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Citadel, The Military C ollege of South Carolina . He l oved so many things about life-- fishing , cooking great food, watching football, taking day trips, great music, and woodworking , but Mark was his happiest when he was with his children.

Mark is survived by his wife, Melissa Taber Shelton, h is children:  Lindsay Crews Shelton Healey and her husband Kyle P. Healey of Somerville, MA, Sarah Christine Shelton of Greensboro, NC , Samuel Edward Shelton of North Charle ston, SC, and Ca rter Edward Shelton of Irmo, SC, h is brothers : Kenneth Dixon (wife, Lisa) of Hopkins, SC a nd Johnny Williams of Berea, SC, and his sister Rita Williams of Goose Creek, SC.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward and Margie Christine Shelton.

Se rvices will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Moseley Funeral Home Chapel located at 914 Meeting Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. You are welcome to c ome as you are. Please join us in a celebration of Mark's life after the service at our home .

In lieu of flowers , we are asking for a donation to one or both of the following charitable organizations near a nd dear to Mark’s heart.  Your donation will make a huge difference in the lives of children with special needs .  Without these two organizations, our family may not have had the opportunity to enjoy watching Carter particip ate in sports and summer camp.
