Lloyd I. Powell

May 22, 1940 — October 16, 2018

A service to celebrate the life of Lloyd I. Powell, Jr.  will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 19, 2018 at Transfiguration Lutheran church. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM at the church.  Entombment will be private at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Memorials  may be made to Transfiguration Lutheran Church and the Nancy K. Perry Center in Lexington.
Mr Powell passed away Tuesday October 16, 2018. He was born in Columbia and was the son of the late Lloyd I. Powell, Sr. and Lucille Prince Powell.  Mr. Powell was a member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church.  In his later years he became an avid photographer and enjoyed capturing the beauty of nature.
Mr. Powell is survived by his wife, Louise Lorick Powell; daughters Sharon Player (Robert) and Robin Pye (Shannon); grandchildren, Dylan Player, Meghan Player, Haley Pye, Connor Pye and Charlie Pye; great grandchildren, Dahlia and Kai Player; siblings, Sandra Oxner and Johnny Powell (Lou) and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his sister, Nadine Powell Downing.
