Linda Hill Gleaton, age 82, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 5th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness. Born on October 17, 1943, Linda was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was married for 61 wonderful years to her loving husband, James “JW” Gleaton, who stood by her side through every chapter of their lives.
Linda is lovingly remembered by her husband, James Gleaton, daughters, Cheryl Craig (Roger) and Missy Haley (Brian); her sister, Beverley Hill Kelley (OB); four devoted grandchildren, Lee Haley (Ally), Parker Haley, Spencer Haley, and Amanda Craig (Yaun); and two precious great-grandchildren, Ellis Haley and Jackson Haley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralston Hill and Margaret Bryson Hill, and her sister, Ellen Hill.
For 28 years, Linda dedicated herself as a special education teacher’s aide, touching countless lives with her compassion, patience, and unwavering support. Her love extended beyond her family to the cats she adored and the cherished moments spent at Daytona Beach, a place close to her heart.
Linda’s warmth, strength, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever remain a guiding light for her family and friends.
