Kenneth Charles Harper, Age 59, of Vincent, Alabama, died March 8 , 2015, with a heart attack.  He was a professional musician since 1976 to the present.  He played drums and percussion with many music al groups in Alabama.  Some bands he played with are Forever, J. Sessions Band, Rick & Tad, Soul Society, Jeff Cook & the Allstar Goodtime Band, Kevin Moon’s Band, Harvest and The Fellowship Quartet.  Between 1987 through May 1990, he attended Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC and earned an Associate Degree in Engineering Graphics Technology, earning all As .  He worked in Alabama in that field for many years.  He served 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1974 through 1980.  In 1979 he was presented the Alabama Governor’s Award of Enlisted Representative of the Year.

He is survived by his mother, Doris McCarty Harper Peel and his stepfather, First Sergeant Thomas C. P eel (Retired), his brother, Col Michael Peel (Retired) and wife, Lt Col Kathy Peel (Retired) and two nephews, Daniel Peel and David Peel.  He was preceded in death by his father, Willie B. Harper and his brother, Thomas C. Peel, Jr.  A graveside service will be held Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL.
