Kelley V. Madden

November 26, 1992 — January 1, 2019

Kelley Vaughan Madden died Tuesday, January 1, 2019.  Kelley was born November 26, Thanksgiving Day, 1992.  The daughter of Arthur Allen Madden, Jr. and Rebecca Teague Madden, Kelley grew up in Columbia, where she attended Satchelford Elementary School and Heathwood Hall Episcopal School.  She attended The College of Charleston and Midlands Technical College.  Truly a gifted artist, Kelley won awards for several art works; her sketches and ceramics are cherished.  Her voice was like an angel’s,  and she pursued her singing mainly as a hobby.  Kelley was the youngest ever chosen to sing with the All State Choir, and she regularly sang the National Anthem at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School.  She sang for various businesses in Charleston while in college.  Kelley’s love of animals led her to volunteer for Pet’s Inc.  A huge highlight of her life was her trip to France when she was 8 years old.  She fell in love with France, and from that point onward, she hoped she could one day return there to open a shop on the Champs Elysees.  Kelley’s love of fashion landed her a position at J. Crew, where she was placed into the managers track.  She loved the people with whom she worked. Kelley was devoted to her brother, Arthur; they collaborated on many projects.  Pawleys Island was Kelley’s favorite place to be.  She never missed an opportunity to be there with friends and family.  Kelley seemed to always be smiling, and she was willing to help wherever she was needed. Kelley is survived by her father and mother:  Arthur Allen Madden, Jr. and Rebecca Teague Madden; Sibling:  Arthur Allen Madden, III; Grandparents:  Neville Eugene Teague and Peggy Kelley Teague; Aunt:  Brandon Vaughan Madden; Uncles:  James Emmett Madden (Suzi Parrott) and Neville Eugene (Ned) Teague, Jr.; Cousins:  James McGregor Madden and Emmett Alexander Madden.  Kelley is predeceased by her Grandparents:  Arthur Allen Madden and Brandon Vaughan Madden; Aunt and Godmother:  Helen Hefner Madden; Aunt:  Deborah Joyce Midgette. A memorial will be held at Trinity Cathedral on Saturday, January 12 at 2:00 with a reception to follow.  Burial will be on Saturday, January 26 at 2:00 at All Saints Church, Waccamaw Parish, Pawleys Island.  Memorials may be made to Pet’s Inc., ASPCA, or ones favored charity.  Moseley Funeral Service of West Columbia is assisting the family.
