Obituary for Kaytera Estes Walker

Kaytera Walker, 76 of West Columbia passed away peacefully December 7th, 2021. She fought a valiant but short battle with cancer and transitioned to her heavenly home while surrounded by her three children.

Kay worked in a number of banking, financial, and state government entities. As well as for the University of South Carolina. She retired from the South Carolina Housing and Finance Authority in 2015. She continued to manage the daily accounting needs for the family business that she, her husband, and son began in 1991.

Kay’s generosity, caring, and humble nature truly demonstratedthe definition of a giving heart in many different ways. This was fostered by and through her Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Whenever there was a need Kay would voluntarily assist.  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13 was her favorite verse and the motivation to live the exemplary life she lived.
