Johnny Richard Kyzer, age 78 of Irmo, SC passed away February 18, 2025. Johnny was born in San Francisco, CA but was a lifelong resident of the Columbia area. He was the son of the late Hollie and Betty June Kyzer. Johnny proudly worked for many years at Horseman Dolls in West Columbia and later retired from Meetze Plumbing in Irmo. His greatest love was always spending time with his late wife, Barbara Meetze Kyzer. They were married for 54 years. Together they shared their love of fishing and vacationing. During their years of retirement, they enjoyed going to their favorite spot on Lake Secession in Abbeville County. Johnny also enjoyed being a regular vendor at the flea markets in West Columbia.
Johnny proudly served in the US Army and was deployed to fight in the Vietnam Conflict. Upon his return he enlisted with the South Carolina National Guard. Johnny loved his country and was so proud to serve.
Survivors include his brothers Mike Kyzer, JD (Claire) Kyzer, Jimmy (Brenda) Kyzer, stepson Kenneth (Duck) James Taylor, brother in laws Larry (Louise) Meetze, Calvin (Charlene) Meetze, Tim Meetze and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00p on Monday, February 24, 2025 in the Chapel of Moseley Funeral Service, 914 Meeting St., West Columbia. Burial will be private.
