John Lewis

John Lewis, 66, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015.  John was born August 3, 1949 to J ames H. and Margie Lewis in Glade Spring, Virginia, the youngest of 5 children. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1968.

John served in the Navy during Vietnam earning a two Good Conduct medals and a Distinguished Service Award.

John loved to spend time with the love of his life, Brenda, family and friends, especially enjoying his time with his grandkids. He was actively involved in his church, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda; daughter, Shannon (David) Study; grandchildren, Madeline, Catherine and Nick; sisters, Brenda Roop, Dot Whitley, and Charlene Manis.

He was preceded in death by father, mother, brother, James Lewis and sister Madeline Wagner.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Bowman, SC, at 11:00 am to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Youth Missions (1425 Mt Tabor Rd, Bowman, SC 29018).
