John F. Cutter

Mr. John Frederick Cutter at the age of 92 passed away on Thursday December 15 , 2016 at Lexington Medical Center.

John was a loving husband, father to his children and family.  He was a WWII veteran, successful businessman, fisherman, hunter and sincerely loved the outdoors.  He owned and operated Cutter Concrete Company for over 35 years.  He was a co-founder of Pineview Little League in West Columbia and served on the board of directors. He was an avid fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and a member of the USC Gamecock Club.  He was also a member of Mt. Hebron Methodist church in West Columbia and he loved his church family. He was very active and well respected in the community.

John Frederick Cutter served as a WWII Veteran that served in Europe from August 1944 to January 1946. Areas of Combat operation were the Ardennes and Rhineland.  John served in the “Battle of the Bulge” as a combat medic ambulance driver. His career was focused on helping soldiers in a combat environment.  John was honorably discharged from the United States Army the 15 th of January 1946. John's, last duty assignment was with company F 159 Infantry Fort Bragg, NC.  He achieved the rank of Technician 5 th grade.  John’s awards include the American Theater campaign medal, Europe Africa Middle East Theater Medal with three bronze service stars, Victory medal and good conduct medal.

Survived by his wife are Earlean B. Cutter, son Cary Cutter, son Craig Cutter, daughter in law Melissa Cutter, granddaughter Tara Maddock, grandson Chase Cutter, grandson Garrett Cutter, and great granddaughter Hollis Dupre Maddock.

In honoring his wishes, the Funeral will be at Mt Hebron United Methodist Church on Leaphart Rd. in West Columbia, Monday December 19 th , 2016 at 2:00pm.  Per his request there will be no receiving prior to his funeral. However there will be a reception in the fellowship hall at Mr. Hebron Church immediately following the graveside service in the church.  John, requested no flowers but send any gifts to the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church to be used for their building fund.
