Joann Watts

November 4, 1945 — April 23, 2023

JoAnn Brasington Watts passed away  April 23, 2023 at age 77 after a lengthy illness. She was born November 4, 1945 and was a lifelong resident of the Columbia/West Columbia area.

The celebration of her life will be held at Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service on Thursday April 27, 2023 at 3pm. 914 Meeting Street, West Columbia, SC

Her interment will be held at a later date at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her parents Furman Wilson Brasington and Thelma Fleming Brasington, As well as her brother Lee Wilson Brasington. She is survived by her husband of 59 1/2 years Roy “Rick” Watts and her youngest brother Furman “Buddy” Campbell Brasington(Annette). She is also survived by her daughters Lynia Ard(Dwayne), Sonya Watts (Lenny), Michelle Watts, and Tara Watts.

She also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was an active member in many churches holding countless positions. The last of those being church secretary at The Harvest.

She held a state position with the Order of the Confederate Rose after retiring from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
