Jimmy Louis Andrews, formerly of North Charleston, South Carolina, and most recently of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully at approximately 2:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026. He was a graduate of North Charleston High School and worked for many years as a carpenter, known for his solid workmanship and pride in his trade.
Jimmy will be remembered most for his unrelenting love and compassion, qualities that touched everyone who knew him. His strong faith in God was the foundation of his life—he loved Jesus deeply, enjoyed discussing the Bible, and openly shared his faith with others. His love for God and his faith gave him strength and hope throughout his life.
He was passionate about competitive sports, especially boxing and baseball, which brought him great joy. Jimmy was a very proud father and grandfather, so proud at times that his kids would get a little embarrassed, but it always came from a place of deep love. He also had a fondness for Mountain Dew and was known for cooking a meatloaf that could feed a small village.
Jimmy loved sharing life’s adventures with his children through Pokémon cards, video games, hunting, fishing, and hiking in the mountains. He treasured sightseeing trips with his mother in the Rocky Mountains, creating lasting memories.
He is survived by his children: James Allen Andrews, Victoria Andrews Gerry, and Matthew Phoenix Andrews; his grandchildren: Natalie Mae Stone, Olivia Abigail Gerry, Ryland Andrews, and Kyle Andrews; and his ex-wife, Paula Andrews.
A private viewing for close family will be held Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Columbia, South Carolina, at Moseley Funeral Home.
Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."
