Jerry Thomas O'Neal, 59, of Lexington, passed away on October 3, 2019. He was born on June 21, 1960 in Prosperity, SC, and was a son of Lila Rikard Gulledge and the late Jack Amos O'Neal.
Jerry loved life but was especially passionate about his family and friends. He was a kind and loving husband, a devoted father, a loyal son, and a caring brother. He was warm hearted, loved everyone he met, and was always happy to help someone. Jerry was a South Carolina Gamecocks fan and enjoyed a good hamburger from What-A-Burger.
In addition to his father, Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy and Todd O'Neal.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Peele O'Neal; daughter, Summer O'Neal Brewer (Greg); grandchildren and great grandchildren; niece/daughter, Christine Peele Ferdaus (Shehrear); mother, Lila Rikard Gulledge; brothers, Jack (Patrice), Dale (Debby), and Mark O'Neal (Maria); father in law, Thomas Peele (Michelle); sister-in-law Crystal Knight ( Jeff), as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service, 914 Meeting St. West Columbia, SC 29169 . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W Dunbar Rd. West Columbia, SC 29170 .
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at donate3.cancer.org or The Humane Society at humanesociety.org .
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Amedisys Hospice, Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service, and to all who assisted or helped during this sad and difficult time.
