Jerry L. Boone, Sr.

Jerry Larkin Boone, Sr.,79, died at his home in Gaston, SC, on February 12, 2021.

Jerry was born on September 5, 1941 to the late Thomas Larkin Boone and Annie Gaddy Boone in Charlotte, NC.

Jerry graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, where he was voted most talented male in his senior class. He also studied at Central Piedmont Community College and Kings College in Charlotte. Jerry was a Real Estate Broker, and was retired from Mecklenburg County Government Real Estate Department in Charlotte.

Jerry was a musician and singer and traveled the southeast singing Gospel Music in churches and Christian functions from the 1970’s until 1991. He was Choir Director at Gateway Baptist Church in Charlotte from 1991 until 2001 and continued singing after retirement, whenever he was asked. He is now singing and praising Jesus with the saints and angels in Heaven.

Since moving to Gaston, SC in 2013, he and his wife are members of Gantt Street Baptist Church in Cayce, SC.

Jerry was preceded in death by a precious 27 year old Grandson, Jonathan Boone of Charlotte, in 2019.  He is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Lucia Boone, two sons, Jerry Boone, Jr, (Toni), and Philip Boone, Grandsons Patrick Boone, Jeremy Boone, Elliot Boone and Great Grandson, Jayden Boone and Sister, Joyce Wilkinson, and many wonderful Nieces and Nephews.

Moseley Funeral Home will be assisting the family, and funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday February 18, 2021 at Gantt Street Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
