Ivory “Tootie” Huggins

September 30, 1948 — September 27, 2021

Ivory Johnson Huggins, “Tootie”, 72 of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away peacefully September 27, 2021 after a lengthy battle with Glioblastoma. Born in Columbia SC, Tootie was the daughter of Herbert Johnson and Dorothy Johnson Vaughn.

Tootie worked for South Carolina National Guard at McEntire Air Force Base and retired from the SC National Guard’s Adjutant General’s Office. Tootie loved music, singing, dancing, red wine, cooking and spending time with her many friends.  One of her favorite places to spend time was by the ocean. She was a long standing member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. Tootie enjoyed traveling and was always ready for a trip. Her greatest pleasure was caring for her large family and many friends.

Tootie is survived by two children, Treva Williams of Hopkins, SC and William Brent Baston (Elizabeth) of Columbia, SC.  Tootie is also survived by a sister, Sandra Johnson Brazell and brother Herbert Keith Johnson. She is also survived by six grandsons, Grayson, Bryce, Preston, William, Owen and Thomas and three great grandsons, Jake, Grayson and Luke. She is preceded in death by parents, Herbert Johnson and Dorothy Johnson Vaughn and sister Sharon Johnson Standridge.

A Graveside service will be held September 29, 2021  at 11:00 am at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors immediately following the service at the graveside.
