West Columbia, SC – Mrs. Helen R. Culpepper, age 86, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017, after a hard fought battle wit h several illnesses. She enjoyed a successful career at Chapman Drug Service for more than 15 years and retired as Office Manager from Manufactured Housing Institute of SC in 1998 . She spent her retirement years as an avid reader with her favorite authors being Eugenia Price, Phillipa Gregory, Pat Conroy , and Dietrich Bonhoeffer . Many of her Saturday’s were spent with her sister and best friend, Nell, where they would enjoy lunch at S&S Cafeteria or Lizards Thicket followed by an afternoon of shopping.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ambrose J. Culpepper, and her oldest brother, Henry M. Roof. Surviving family members include Ronald (Ronnie) K. Culpepper (son), Laurie E. Culpepper (daughter), Janelle (Nell) Brown (Henry), Eugene Roof (Johann), Betty Woodward (Edgar) and nephews, Mike Roof (Shei la), Mark Woodward, and niece, Celeste Prange (Greg). She will be terribly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday January 23, 2017 at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. Burial will follow the service at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm January 22, 2017 at Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service.
